Dear Standard ICF Staff,

//////////July 15, 2004//////////....................Dear Jim,....Several months ago you recommended Standard ICFs. We have just put the roof on the home we are building with our son and are so pleased with the results and process that we wouldn't consider building stick frame again. Now if we can just help the electrical inspector understand that some change is a good thing. Thanks, Micheal Coleman...........................///////////July 16, 2004//////////.......................Dear Micheal,....I recall that you are building out in the Berkshires, very nice area I understand. Im glad everything worked well for you and I imagine your son helped keep the ICF technology safe and strong for your new home. Kindly let me know what you as a homeowner thought of the complete ICF process so I can give the information to other potential users. Thanks for your note,James Eggert..............//////////July 17, 2004///////////...............Jim,....Actually, we had only intended to go with ICF for the walkout foundation level in order to reap the benefits of the insulated, ready to finish walls. As we proceed with forming the foundation, we were so pleased and impressed with the product, process and apparent outcome that we decided to go all the way up to the rafters with the ICFs. We have been very happy with the process of ICF construction in general and Standard ICFs in particular. It just feels good to know that you are building a solid, energy efficient house that will last. From the initial incentive of competitive pricing, to the "designed with the builder in mind" philosophy and the available, knowledgeable support from multiple sources via phone, email, fax and on-site supervision and hands on help (thanks Dave Thayer), we found Standard ICF construction to be an experience we want to repeat. We are already planning our "hurricane house" on the Florida gulf coast, using Standard ICFs. The quality of construction and design, along with the promised energy efficiency to withstand the cold Berkshire winters, generated a bidding war for the house and our Son, the builder and his wife decided to buy it themselves. Thanks, Micheal

Sincerely, Jim Eggert, CGR & Micheal Coleman, Builder / Homeowner

Dear Standard ICF Staff,

We are just do-it-yourselfers and step by step we build our dream house with Standard ICFs. The blocks went together very well. The installation manual and graphic guide were both very helpful giving tips for building and we were smart enough to call Tim Traxler when we had questions. Tim advised us to insulate under the basement slab?we are sure glad we did. Our basement is the best part of our home; I can?t imagine anyone not building a basement without Standard ICF blocks. People had warned us about getting hold of a bad product, but we had no problem with yours. I see no room for improvement?we have a well built house. If we did it everyday we couldn?t have had a better job. . Working with your blocks made it the best summer I had in my whole life?building our three story dream home. We were originally going to build a log home but when we did the numbers we decided we couldn?t afford a log home, so we decide to build our entire house with Standard ICFs, it was the best decision we could have made. We wanted a rustic look so we installed cedar log lap siding on the exterior using an air gun with galvanized ring shank nails. We tried to pull it off, but no way is it coming off. We are very happy with our new home; we had a lot of fun building it. Enclosed are some photos for your web site.

Dear Standard ICF Staff,

I wanted to send this message to let you know everthing went super smooth. Pumper truck showed up a little after 9:30 and set up. First concrete truck showed up just before 10:00. We started pumping a little after 10:00. About 18 yards later, it wasn't even noon and we were done. No blowouts, no buldges, no breakdowns. A heck of a lot easier than I thought for lots of reasons. Thanks again for a great product.

Dear Standard ICF Staff,

I have been researching for some time now the various ICF products and yours looks better than all the rest...you get my vote. ...Thanks for your quick reply. I have found a builder who builds concrete homes with Standard ICFs and we are already working out the plans for our new home. I found him on the Standard ICF website. ...I feel I am in good hands. Thanks for your help and I am looking forward eagerly to building with your product.

Dear Standard ICF Staff,

I live in Oregon. I have built several conventional homes but was looking for somthing that was unique, enjoyable to build, and would be somthing that I could retire in. My house is like a fortress: very solid, blocks most exterior sound, and is easy to heat, cool, and maintain. The home is single story with three thousand sq. ft. of living space with 9 foot 6 inch ceiling height and a twelve hundred sq. ft. attached garage. My heating / cooling costs have averaged less than $38.00 per month for the first year. Using Standard ICFs is one of the best decisions I've ever made.

Sincerely

Fall, 2002

Dear Standard ICF Staff,

... We have built with your Standard block and plan to do a lot more with them. We currently have bids out for several large homes along the State's coastal area and a new three building car dealership here in central Maine. We are working on two new residential homes at the present time. We enjoy working with your very stable and well thought out product, which is a great improvement over some other ICFs we have worked with. We are a rather small, 4 man, business but we feel your product is the ICF to use and will promote it at upcoming trade shows and other promotional outlets.

To Whom It May Concern:

We wanted to write and thank you for your great products and good service, we have found with you company. We had been interested in using Insulating Concrete Forms but we had not yet found an ICF system that met our expectations. When we found your company and looked at your products at the World of Concrete Show 2002 we were very impressed. Since then we have purchased and build with Standard ICFs -- we were not disappointed. The forms are sturdy, straight, and preformed well. I have dealt with Tim Traxler and others on your staff; they have all been very courteous and have gone out of their way to help me. I am definitely going to use your company for all of my ICF needs in the future.

Sincerely,

Dear Standard ICF Staff,

We just wanted to say a sincere “Thank You” for your help on our ICF project…. In summary, it was ‘fun’ to collaborate with you on this project. We can see now that working with other suppliers could have made the whole project a negative experience instead of such a positive one.

Thanks again!

Fall 2002

Standard Staff,

Good news, everything went great! We pumped 19 yards, 3 yards of it was in the upper footings and a 12', 45 degree sloped footing with a cap on it. The concrete pump operator said the forms look much better than what he has seen before and took a piece with him to show people.

We used a Lamberts loop and a 3" hose. I ordered concrete with a 5-6" slump, 4000 psi. with 3/8" aggregate. We made 32" lifts and waited between them all, running out all of the time I had on the pump as best I could. I called the plant and had them hold a 5" slump the best they could. We had 3 guys working on placing the concrete in the forms and ensuring there were no voids. Slow and steady was the word. I know higher slump is recommended but I wanted to take as much load off the forms as possible as we were going 14' at the frost wall. I made sure not to drop concrete in any of the lintels until we were at that level with the lifts.

The result was not one bulge, and not any movement with the alignment. We never turned a turnbuckle. The bottoms of the openings never raised either; I can't believe how well it went. As far as your forms are concerned, they are bombproof. I am very happy that I selected you company. However, I must bring to your attention that you do have one person to complain about your forms. That would be from my girlfriend, and only because your forms get more of my attention than she does. Don't worry you can't make everyone happy.

Sincerely
